Zu Pippo's House

Pro: La posizione è perfetta, vicino alla stazione e al centro storico, e lo stile antico della casa è davvero unico. Il pavimento in cotto siciliano è un tocco di classe! La proprietaria una persona molto gentile e la sua accoglienza deve aver reso l'esperienza ancora più piacevole. E poi, avere un bar vicino con i migliori arancini e tavola calda di Catania è un vero plus! E il fatto che la casa sia pulita e funzionale è un grande vantaggio completa di tutti i confort per una vacanza a Catania

Pro: L'appartamento è facilemnte ragiungibile e ben indicato anche nel campanello all'ingresso è molto spazioso (noi eravamo in 2) con mobili bellissimi, all'ingresso nel tavolino ci sono diversi bigliettini da visita per ristoranti/bar.. viene lasciato in ombrellone dalla proprietaria per il mare. La camera da letto è molto spaziosa è presente sia l'aria condizionata che un piccolo terrazzino che affaccia sulla strada. La posizione è molto comoda e lungo le strade è pieno di parcheggi sia a pagamento che non. La proprietaria è stata molto gentile e disponibile per qualsiasi nostra domanda.

Contro: Attenzione al lavandino del bagno e al bidet perché doandolano un pó. È presente un altro terrazzino in cucina che affaccia nella parte interna dell'edificio, ma questa parte è un pó sporca. Purtroppo mentre stavamo cucinando ci è finita la bombola del gas, ma appena abbiamo avvisato la proprietaria è riuscita a rimediare una nuova

A really large apartment right next to the main train station

Pro: Really great and central location. The interior design fully followed the old style of the building with many details. It is rare to have such a large apartment. The washing machine was really necessary for backpackers. The hostess Concetta was very friendly, warm and helpful, although her English was a bit lacking. Luckily she had her son Marco to help her via Whatsapp. The bedroom and its balcony faced a busy street, which made the noise come inside. It didn't bother us and we didn't have to use the earplugs provided by the hostess. The numerous small and slightly larger belongings used in the interior were a bit distracting. Or were these perhaps just the authentic Sicilian touch? Due to the large size of the apartment and the large amount of belongings, cleaning can be a bit challenging. Zu Pippo's is a great base for a tour on the vulcano Etna by train by local railway company Ferrovia Circumetnea. We enjoyed our stay at Zu Pippo's House.

Pro: We stayed a few days at Zu Pippo and it was delightful. The owners strive to keep the Sicilian tradition alive with apartments that have a 70s atmosphere. Attention to detail and a friendly atmosphere, the apartment is large and airy, equipped with everything you need to feel the vibe as soon as you arrive. Thank you, and we can't wait to return.

Absolutely gem!

Pro: Every single bit. It was a truly authentic Sicilian experience. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed and were impressed by the property—an absolute gem! The host was also very friendly and kind. However, I can also see that it might not be everyone's cup of tea if the guest is looking for uniform, sterilised accommodation. I read the reviews before booking and was almost scared off by one of them. We were so happy that we made the choice to stay at the end! :)

Contro: It's a little noisy from the road, although it's not strictly speaking a very busy road. Changing the glass and sealing the gap will improve it a lot! Hopefully, they will look into it.

Pro: It was really nice flat for one night stay, we really enjoyed the location and atmosphere of it.

Perfect host, perfect apartment, perfect location.

Pro: The hosts were amazing people! They greeted us even when we were at the address earlier than expected. The location is fantastic, you can walk to anywhere and explore the city with ease. We knew the apartment was clean as soon as we walked in from the smell. There were small greeting gifts around the house and when we had a small problem with the apartment our host arrived in such a short time and fixed the problem. It was a wonderful experience to stay at a such a beautiful apartment.

Pro: A beautiful old traditional house, spotlessly clean and very close to the train and bus stations, as well as the historic centre of Catania. The hosts are lovely people, very helpful. The beds and pillows were comfortable and a lovely hot shower. The walls are very thick so we didn't hear the neighbours at all.

Contro: The only downside is the traffic noise from the road but this is in the city centre so road noise is to be expected.we used earplugs which helped greatly.
